On our day trip to Ouarzazate, we will also visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, one of the largest and best-preserved kasbahs in Morocco. This Kasbah has been declared a World Heritage Site and several famous films were filmed, such as “Lawrence of Arabia” or “Babylon”. After visiting Ouarzazate and its surroundings, we will return to Marrakech at sunset.
The aim of our day trip to Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou is to introduce you to the vibrant diversity of Moroccan culture. Morocco is unique in that it mixes urban and natural.
AIT BENHADDOU & OUARZAZATE TRIP ITINERARY
In the morning we leave Marrakech and pass the High Atlas on the Tizi N’Tichka road pass, along the highest mountain in North Africa. On the way, we will see stunning mountain ranges of the High Atlas and pass some Berber villages.
Then we will visit Ait Ben Haddou (a world heritage site) and explore the magnificent kasbahs. Also, you can find the locations where many movies like “Laurence of Arabia”, “The Mummy” or “Gladiator” were shot here. Then our journey leads us to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood” of Africa.
There we will visit the Kasbah Taourirt and have a lunch break. In the late afternoon, we will arrive in Marrakech where we will drop off you at your accommodation.
